Planning Your Porcelain Veneers

smileredlipswhiteteethFinding that you would like to change almost everything about the way your smile looks but you aren’t quite sure where to begin? The first thing you should do, of course, is schedule a consultation with us, so we can discuss the appropriate treatments to help you achieve your smile goals. When it comes to addressing a long list of things you do not like about your smile and an equally long list of specific improvements you would like to accomplish, porcelain veneers may offer the treatment you desire. Veneers address multiple esthetic concerns, so you can avoid a combination of other treatments. However, while this sounds like a wonderful solution you may still be wondering what to expect from the planning stage. Find out more as you make your cosmetic treatment decision:

First, we will meet with you to learn more about your smile and your personal outlook on what you would like to see when all is said and done. We may collaborate with other specialists, taking in a complete evaluation of your smile to make sure porcelain veneers are placed accurately and with the best results possible.

We Prepare Your Teeth

If you have very mild concerns and minor damage, you may not require preparation. In this case, we may even suggest no-prep veneers which are thinner and will typically not require us to alter your teeth in any way before placement. However, for moderate damage, we may need to remove a very small amount of your tooth’s outermost tissue layer, called enamel, to make room for the precise placement of your veneers. Keep in mind, we may provide you with temporary veneers while you wait for your permanent ones to be completed.

After we take impressions of your teeth and send them to a trusted master ceramicist, we will receive your custom-crafted porcelain veneers. You will return to see us, so we may bond them to the visible portions of your teeth to complete your transformation.
