Non-Invasive Porcelain Veneers
tic dentist Dr. James Fondriest doesn’t offer these brands of veneers. Instead, he works with master ceramist Matt Roberts, Certified Dental Technician (CDT) to design hand-crafted porcelain veneers of about .2mm thickness. Even at this minute thickness, the durable veneers feature multiple layers of semi-translucent porcelain for a natural, beautiful appearance.
Traditionally, porcelain veneers require removal of about .5mm of natural, healthy tooth enamel prior to placing the restorations. To ensure durability of the veneers, they must be .5mm thick. Reducing tooth enamel allows for the new veneers to look natural. They lie flat, in line with surrounding teeth.
For years, no-preparation veneers have created a fake look. They’re bulky and unnatural looking. As a compromise, minimal-preparation veneers are a thinner veneer, yet they’re durable. For minimal-prep veneers, less tooth reduction is required prior to placement. For patients with naturally large teeth, minimal-prep veneers may be the best option.
Whether your smile is best suited to no-prep or minimal-prep veneers, your restorations made by Matt Roberts and Dr. Fondriest will be durable, thin, and completely natural looking.
