Hurry; it’s not too late to sign up for the Lake Road bike ride, sponsored by the Forest-Lake Bluff Historical Society. The ride will begin at 10 a.m. September 19, 2015, at the Historical Society, located at 361 E. Westminster, Lake Forest, IL, and will include a leisurely-paced ride from Forest Park up to Lake Forest Cemetery. The cost is $10 for members and $20 for non-members. Space is limited, so participants are required to pre-register by visiting www.lflbhistory.org or calling 847.234.5253.

Along with beautiful fall scenery, the ride will also feature refreshments provided by the organization, as well as rich local history. In fact, the Historical Society’s executive director, Janice Hack, will be on hand to share stories and facts about the lakefront’s beautiful estates and their founding families, the architects and their distinct styles, as well as to discuss other famous local landmarks and local trivia during the ride.
If the event is rained out, the reschedule date is September 26, 2015. (Please note that all participants will be required to wear bicycle helmets and to sign a liability waiver before the ride can begin.)
